Partners Brenda Balmer and Brad Wiscons have worked in the nonprofit sector in San Diego County since the 1980s, starting in front line service delivery and progressing to program management and executive leadership, with special expertise in grant development, staff training, and organizational systems development. Lucas Wiscons brings a passion for supporting nonprofit organizations to use technology tools to support their missions. Brenda Balmer

PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Brenda Balmer has been a full-time grant development professional for the past twenty years, working for a wide range of health and social service organizations. Eleven of these years were spent happily at Vista Community Clinic where she garnered true expertise in health-related grant writing, and was personally associated with obtaining more than $40 million in grant funding. Brenda is skilled in a highly effective team-based approach to grant writing and program development that includes prospect research, concept development, detail management of the grant development process, and of course writing, editing and submission. In addition, her experience and skill set extends to organizational training and mentoring around grant and program development. She is interested in health, social services, environmental and social justice, music, the arts, and other types of writing and editing projects needed by organizations dedicated to serving the common good. She is intensely curious about your projects and has a deep desire to help you make the world a more peaceful, healthy, just and beautiful place.

LUCAS WISCONS

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Lucas Wiscons is a graduate of UCSC with dual degrees in Sociology and Community Studies. He has a passion for social justice, and is adept at helping nonprofit organizations to increase their capacity to use information technology and social networking in service of their missions. Skills include website development and maintenance, and development of internal systems for information sharing and data collection.

BRAD WISCONS

CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE AND INNOVATION OFFICER

Brad Wiscons has been a nonprofit executive for more than 20 years. He has deep expertise in program development, policy and procedure creation, fund development, organizational operations, maximizing meaningful use of information technology, and development and implementation of tools for data collection and quality assurance. Brad has extensive experience in the creation and delivery of topical and ongoing staff development and training, particularly web-based video training. He is a master strategic planner, and was the State of California Performance Excellence (CAPE) Examiner of the Year in 2009. Brad is past-president of his local Kiwanis Club and served for years as the chair of the San Diego County Workforce Investment Board.

REN WISCONS

LEAD CREATIVE ASSOCIATE

Ren Wiscons is a graduate student at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, studying Chemistry. She has been designing logos for school business projects and for friends for several years, and recently had a mug and tee-shirt designs featured in the Oberlin College bookstore. She has a great artistic eye, creative ideas, and the tools to produce a beautiful logo for your organization or project.

Grant Writer Source was founded by Wendy Lam Endsley in 2004 to provide high quality, comprehensive grant writing resulting in funding support for health, education, cultural and social service organizations. Services include prospect research, program design, proposal preparation, evaluation plans, grant tracking and organizational capacity-building. Ms. Endsley’s experience as a successful grant writer grew from two decades as a journalist writing for newspapers, magazines, web-based businesses, and non-profit art organizations. Her journalistic writing earned two awards from the San Diego Press Club and recognition by the Society of Professional Journalists in Washington, D.C. Grant Writer Source is a Nonprofit Prosperity Affiliated business and we collaborate on numerous projects.
